Fitness, Family, Fun, Easter Activities

Hey Peeps, if you have been following along on social media then you know we have already hopped into Easter with lots of Fitness, Family, Fun, Easter activities.

If you are looking to try something totally different this holiday season or maybe just change up an existing tradition I have some Egg-citing ideas for you, lets get cracking!

.Here’s how make your own egg dye in minutes, using things you probably already have in your pantry.

TIP: If you are interested in exploring more natural dye options check out  Local Dietitian Crystal Higgins post on Instagram, click here for the link.

Decorate Easter Eggs

Ingredients:

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Food coloring
  • White vinegar

What You Do:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Measure 1/2 cup of the boiling water into a heat-resistant container. Then, add one teaspoon of vinegar and 10-20 drops of food coloring to achieve your desired color.
  3. Repeat the process to create additional colors.
  4. Place eggs in your dye, and allow them to soak for around five minutes. You may need to flip your eggs partway through, so that both sides are evenly colored.
  5. If you want to get fancy, you can do some color-blocking with strings and leaves. This year I used foam stickers from a Dollar Store Easter House project that was sadly missing pieces.  We placed stickers on the eggs before dropping them into the dye. I was happy with the results and the repurposing of material.

TIP: If you’re working with small kids, allow the dye to cool before you move on to dying eggs.
